The Largest Open Caisson Project in Bangladesh designed by us sinks in place at one time

Recently, the open caisson of the circulating water pump station of Ashuganj 400MW combined cycle power plant (east) project designed by our company successfully sank once and reached the design elevation.

The open caisson of the circulating water pump station is 46.86m long, 17.5m wide, with a total height of 14.7m and a total weight of 11000t. This is the first large-scale open caisson structure designed and completed by our company. It is also the largest open caisson project in Bangladesh at present, creating a record of power plant construction projects in the country. In the structural design process of the pump station, the hydraulic structure professionals of our company give full play to their technical advantages. According to the structural characteristics of the pump station and combined with the engineering practice, the open caisson structure is proposed in the substructure of the circulating pump station, which solves a series of Engineering problems such as narrow site, adjacent buildings and high groundwater level.

This sinking operation adopts the drainage sinking technology, and adopts the double row high-pressure rotary jet grouting pile underground continuous wall protection for the adjacent existing building side. After many days of unremitting efforts, it is in place smoothly and has no impact on the adjacent buildings. The successful placement of the open caisson marks the completion of a key node in the project, which lays a solid foundation for the subsequent pump house structure, water pipe jacking construction and even the successful completion of the whole project.
