On April 25th, at 10:00 AM local time in Bangladesh, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh ZHANG Zuo visited Ghorashal Gas Power Plant. Representative of China National Technology Import and Export Corp. (CNTIC), Project Manager ZHANG Huibo of No. 7 Plant, Field Manager WEI Jianwen and other staff, China National Machinery Import & Export Corp. (CMC), Guangdong Power Engineering Co., Ltd. (GPEC), Powerchina Fujian Electric Power Survey & Design Institute Co., Ltd. (FEDI) and other participating work units together with representatives of local Chinese companies welcomed and accompanied the Ambassador to Bangladesh for inspection.

Ambassador Zhang, accompanied by his entourage, visited the site of Project No. 7, No. 3 and No. 4 of Ghorashal Gas-fired Power Plant, and inquired about the progress of the project and production operation. In the afternoon, he listened to the project implementation report and delivered a speech in the conference room. Ambassador Zhang said that Bangladesh is an open and opportunistic market. The key to Chinese companies going global and building a modern socialist country is to explore overseas markets. Overseas projects must improve their ability to deal with international trade frictions and gain international discourse rights. We must adhere to strategic mutual trust, seek more cooperation with local businesses, and strengthen policy linkage and strategy linkage. We must be good at integrating resources, form a whole factor whole industry chain, and “join the sea and work together” to form a group advantage. We must follow the principle of “jointly discussing, co-building, sharing”, work together to open up the international market, and form a community of fate and responsibility. Focus on innovation and be good at promoting quality change, efficiency change, and power change. Ambassador Zhang particularly pointed out that the Ghorashal Gas-fired Power Plant utilizes a combined-cycle approach and uses more than 580 degrees of waste heat from the combustion exhaust gas, which increases the overall efficiency by 20%, namely innovation. We should pay attention to international high-end technology, management, supply chain, and marketing channels. We must not only be an enterprise, but also be a corporation and a company. We must lay out the overall layout from the value chain level and seek overall innovation.

It is reported that the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 7 machines of Ghorashal Gas-fired Power Plant are all projects of Chinese enterprises’ general contracting, design and construction. Among them, as the participating party, our institute participated in the design of the No. 3 and No. 7 projects, of which No. 7 project has been put into production. Chinese companies have brought their own design and construction technologies to the world and have injected the blood of China electric power to Bangladesh which is in short supply. The good appearance of Chinese companies has also left a deep impression on local owners and the public, demonstrating that our country’s open strategy of always taking the path of peaceful development and pursuing mutual benefits and win-win results. Ambassador Zhang’s arrival brought warm greetings for the Chinese company staff stationed in Ghorashal, Bangladesh, and spurred Chinese companies stationed in Bangladesh to move forward with more ambitious goals.
